S.M.A.R.T. Goals are part of the School Improvement Plan, which support Niagara Catholic’s System Priorities.
S.M.A.R.T. Goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.

Literacy

  1. To increase the number of grade 10 identified students (IPRC) who achieve level 3 or 4 in their English courses by 1% by June 30, 2016.

  2. To increase the success rate of fully participating previously eligible students on the OSSLT by 3% by June 30, 2016.

  3. To increase the number of students who achieve level 3 or 4 in their English courses by 1% by June 30, 2016.

  4. To increase the success rate of fully participating first-time eligible students on the OSSLT by 2% by June 30, 2016.

Numeracy

  1. To increase EQAO results for Academic students (from 87%) and Applied students (from 52%) by at least 2% by June 30, 2016.

  2. To increase the number of students who achieve level 3 or 4 in their math courses by 1% by June 30, 2016.

Pathways

  1. To achieve the following Credit Accumulation goals by Grade by June 30, 2016:

    Grade 9 – 8 credits – 95%

    Grade 10 – 16 credits – 95%

    Grade 11 – 24 credits – 90%

     
  2. To achieve a Graduation Rate of 98% based on Grade 12 students who have 22 credits at the start of the academic year by June 30, 2016.

  3. Between 2011 and 2014 to retain 100 % of Grade 8 students to Catholic secondary schools by June 30, 2016.

  4. To maintain the number of students enrolled in the Specialist High Skills Major program by June 30, 2016.

  5. To maintain 100% enrolment in the Connecting to College Dual Credit program by June 30, 2016.

Faith, Community, Culture & Caring 

  1. To ensure that 100% of all Grade 9 students are exposed to mental health awareness/education and the opportunity to discuss any mental health issues they may be experiencing.
  2. To administer the Safe School Survey to students, staff and parents and analyze the results to measure our Safe Schools Policy within our community by June 30, 2016.
  3. To have 100% of teachers take part in Faith Formation professional development by June 30, 2016.
